Eco Committee

This year we are continuing to develop the role of our Eco Committee to help St. Gregory's school become more environmentally friendly.
A big part of the Eco Committee's focus is helping us work towards becoming an Eco-School and gaining a nationally recognised Eco-School award. We have already received a Bronze and Silver Eco-School award and we are now working towards the Green Flag status.
We have representatives from children across the school involved in our Eco committee and hold a regular Eco Club in which children are developing our sustainability by growing fruit and vegetables within the school grounds and helping to develop our natural environment by creating shelters for wildlife and mini-beasts, making bird feeders and water collectors.
Our current push is to lower the amount of electricity we use as a school, so our Eco Warriors are hard at work turning of lights, computers and fans as well as ensuring that as much waste paper is recycled as possible.
We aim to develop the items we currently recycle to include plastic, batteries, pens and ink cartridges.
This page will keep you updated on all the great initiatives and activities our Eco Committee does.
